A category-2 heritage listing brought back to original spec, slate by slate.
The owner approached us with a 110-year-old slate roof reaching the end of its life — and a council heritage classification that meant any new roof had to match the original spec, slate-for-slate. Most roofers we know would walk away from a job like this.
We spent two weeks sourcing matching Welsh slate, salvaged 60% of the original ridge tiles, and worked alongside the Auckland Council heritage team to sign off every stage. The result: a 50-year roof on a home that will outlast all of us.
